Troubleshooting Tips
No dial tone:
If you have the front door intercom system, pick up a phone, preferably corded, and press * three times. Hang up, then pick up and check for dial tone.
Disconnect all phones (and computers if plugged into phone jacks). Plug in one phone, preferably corded, and check for dial tone.
Remember, cordless phones require AC power to the base. If power is out, only corded phones will work.
Caller ID display not working:
Many systems have separate batteries for Caller ID. Check the batteries.
Caller ID

Know who is calling before you answer the phone!
Caller ID helps you manage calls before you pick them up. You can identify the caller as someone you want to talk to now or return the call later. You can also monitor who called while you were out, even if the caller does not leave a message.
Caller ID shows on your telephone's display unit the listed name and phone number of the caller.
You may also see one of these messages on occasion:
Private: This signifies that the caller's information is blocked.
Out-of-Area/Unavailable: This signifies that the call was placed from an area or equipment that is incompatible with Caller ID technology.

Call Waiting
Call Waiting $2.75 / month
There is no need for you to miss any important incoming calls when you are already on the phone. Call Waiting informs you with a tone that you have another incoming call. You have the choice to stay with your current conversation or put them on hold and answer the incoming call.
To use Call Waiting:
After you hear the Call Waiting tone, just press flash on the receiver one time. This will put the first caller on hold and connect you to the second caller.
If you don't want Call Waiting activated during a particular phone call, you can deactivate this feature.
To deactivate Call Waiting: Prior to making the call, listen for dial tone. Press *70. Dial number as usual.

3-Way Calling
3-Way Calling $2.75 / month
Save time by bringing everyone up to date at once. Add a third person to your conversation without operator assistance.
To add a third party:
Connect your first call. Press the receiver button once to put the second party on hold. Listen for three short tones, then dial the third party's phone number. When the third party answers, press the receiver button once again and you will be connected.
To drop the third party:
Press the receiver button once to disconnect the third party and still keep the second party on the line.
Note: You will disconnect both parties if you hang up your phone.

Last Call Return

Didn't make it to the phone in time? Now you can automatically connect to your last incoming call whether it was answered or not.

Record up to 16 minutes of messages with no hardware to break and the convenience to easily check messages from any touch tone phone.
Voice Mailbox Extension $1.00 / month
Get up to three extension mailboxes so others in your house can have their own voice mail.
To set up voice mail initially:
Call 669-MAIL (669-6245) from your home phone. Enter your temporary password. Follow the prompts.
To access your mailbox from home:
Dial 669-6245. Enter your password. Press #.
To access your mailbox when away from home:
Dial (317)669-6245. Enter your 10 digit home phone number and press #. Enter your password and press #.

Call Forward
Call Forwarding $2.75 / month
Now you can forward your calls to another number including your cell phone, work phone, or vacation destination. Use Call Forwarding to automatically send incoming calls to another phone number of your choice.
To forward calls to another number:
Press *72. Listen for dial tone and then dial the destination phone number. After dialing the number, you will hear two short confirmation tones.
Note: Long distance charges will apply if destination number is not local.
To cancel Call Forwarding:
Press *73. Listen for two short confirmation tones.
Note: You must cancel the previous Call Forwarding number before you can input another.

Remote Activation Call Forward
Remote Activation of Call Forwarding $2.75 / month
Call Forwarding is required for this feature.
You can have the convenience of activating or deactivating your call forwarding feature from anywhere and at anytime.
To use remote activation/deactivation:
Call (317)669-4000. Listen for the stutter dial tone. Enter your 10 digit phone number. Listen for the stutter dial tone. Enter your assigned 4 digit password. Listen for the stutter dial tone. Then follow the same procedure as normal Call Forwarding.
To forward calls to another number:
Press *72. Listen for dial tone and then dial the destination phone number. After dialing the number, you will hear two short confirmation tones.
Note: Long distance charges will apply if destination number is not local.
To cancel Call Forwarding:
Press *73. Listen for two short confirmation tones.
Note: You must cancel the previous Call Forwarding number before you can input another.

Call Forward Busy/No Answer

Now you can automatically forward calls to another number if you are on the phone or not at home.

To activate Call Forward Busy:
Press *90. Listen for two short tones and then a dial tone. Dial the number where you want the call transferred to if your line is busy. You will hear two short confirmation tones.
To deactivate Call Forward Busy:
Press *91. Listen for two short confirmation tones.
To activate Call Forward No Answer:
Press *92. Listen for two short tones and then a dial tone. Dial the number where you want the call transferred to if your line is busy. You will hear two short confirmation tones.
To deactivate Call Forward Busy:

Distinctive Ring

You can have two phone numbers associated with one phone line allowing you to know by differences in the ring which one of your two numbers the caller dialed.

Call Accept

To activate:
Press *64 and listen to an announcement stating whether the service is turned on or off.

Press 3 to turn the service on or off. Add a number by dialing #number#. Remove a number by dialing *number*. Press 1 to review the list of numbers.

Use Priority Call to screen calls through a special ring for those people you want to talk to. Let all of the other calls go to the answering machine.
To use:
Press *61 and listen to an announcement stating whether the service is turned on or off.
Announcement options:
Press 3 to turn service on or off.
Press # to add a number.
Press * to delete a number.
Press 1 to review the list of numbers.
Press 0 to repeat the announcement options.

Busy Line Redial
Busy Line Redial $2.75 / month
Want an automatic way to keep redialing a number that is busy? Use Busy Line Redial and when the called number becomes free, you will get a special ring.
How to use:
After dialing a number that is busy, press flash and listen for a special dial tone.
Press *66. Listen for the special tone then hang up.
Redialing will occur for up to 30 minutes unless canceled.
When the line being called is free, a special ring will alert you to pick up.
